Conference roundup
Over the past few months our group has been hitting up a lot of conferences.
In May 2025, Grace Tabi was honoured to be selected as one of five early career researchers nominated by the Royal Society of Chemistry to represent the United Kingdom at the 3rd Commonwealth Chemistry Congress in Stellenbosch, South Africa. She delivered a flash talk on her research, “Enhancing Perovskite Solar Cell Efficiency and Stability Through Fluorinated Polymer Additives” showcasing how materials chemistry can drive affordable, long-lasting solar technologies to support the global transition to renewable energy. The Congress offered a valuable platform to exchange ideas with leading scientists and build meaningful connections across the Commonwealth research community.
We are super proud of Grace for being selected for such a preistigous opportunity!
In July several of us attended the UK Symposium on Materials for Sustainability 2025. I gave an invited talk and Rehmat and Grace presented posters of their work. Grace won a runner-up poster prize! We had some great conversations with people and got to hear some great talks.
Lastly (but by no means least), Sophie presented her work on quasi-2D perovskites at UK Semiconductors. This was Sophie’s first conference talk and we hear she did a great job!
I’m super proud of my group for all the great work they’re doing and for just bringing the good vibes!
